Dubai Crown Prince grants Golden Visas to 223 exceptional educators
Applications for second round open from 15 October to 15 December
DUBAI – Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defence, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, more than 200 distinguished educators across schools, universities, and early childhood centres in the emirate have been awarded Golden Visas.
The initiative, first announced by the Crown Prince on World Teachers’ Day last year, reflects Dubai’s commitment to honouring teachers and advancing its global educational stature.
“Teachers and educators are the ones who light the way forward. They inspire, guide, and give our children the skills and confidence to succeed. On World Teachers’ Day, we recognise their dedication and affirm that supporting them is the best investment we can make in the future of Dubai,” Sheikh Hamdan said. He added that awarding Golden Visas to exceptional educators reinforces the emirate’s values of knowledge, integrity, and service, ensuring schools remain places where the next generation can thrive.
Selection and recognition
In the first round of the initiative, 435 applications were received, of which 223 educators were granted the Golden Visa, representing 51% of the total. Of these, 157 went to school staff, 60 to university faculty, and six to early childhood centre educators. Applicants represented a wide range of roles, from senior leadership and teaching to social work and library services.
The evaluation process focused on professional qualifications, achievements, contributions to education and society, and feedback from students, parents, and the wider community. Demographic factors such as nationality, gender, or years of experience were intentionally excluded to ensure fairness. Special recognition was given to those who had received national or international awards, published research in peer-reviewed journals, or made exceptional contributions within their institutions and communities.
Strategic alignment
The initiative is closely tied to Dubai’s Education 33 (E33) Strategy, which seeks to empower educators, attract leading talent from around the world, and strengthen Dubai’s position as a hub of educational excellence.

The Golden Visa initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to celebrate and elevate the teaching profession. These results reflect the incredible talent, passion, and commitment of Dubai’s educators – individuals who are making a real difference in students’ lives and contributing to the future of our city.”
Next round
Applications for the second round of Golden Visas will be open from 15 October to 15 December 2025. Educators working in private early childhood centres, schools, and international higher education institutions in Dubai are eligible to apply.
